Frequently Asked Questions
What is a panel beater?
A panel beater is a skilled tradesperson who repairs and restores the bodywork of vehicles, fixing dents, scratches, and damage from accidents. They straighten metal panels, fill imperfections, weld or replace parts, and prepare surfaces for painting.
How long will it take to repair my car?
The time required for repairs depends on the severity and type of damage. Minor repairs, such as small dents or scratches, may take a few days. However, larger repairs or more extensive damage such as replacing panels or addressing structural issues can take a week or more. Once we assess the damage, we can provide a more accurate time estimate.
Will my vehicle look as good as new after the repair?
Our goal is always to restore your vehicle to its pre-damaged condition. In most cases, our experienced team can ensure that repairs are seamless and that the paint finish matches perfectly.
Do I need to get an estimate before proceeding with the repair?
Yes, we always recommend getting a detailed estimate before authorising any work. Our team will assess the damage, provide a written quote, and explain the necessary repairs. We aim for complete transparency, so there are no surprises when it comes to costs.
Will my insurance cover the cost of repairs?
If you have comprehensive insurance, the repair costs for most types of damage should be covered, subject to your excess and policy terms. We work directly with most major insurance providers, so we can handle the claims process for you. If you have third-party insurance, however, you may be responsible for covering the cost of repairs. We recommend contacting your insurer to confirm coverage before proceeding.
How do I know if my car is repairable or if it's a write-off?
If the cost of repairs exceeds a certain percentage of the vehicle’s value, or if the damage is deemed unsafe to repair, your vehicle may be written off by the insurance company. Our experienced assessors will evaluate the extent of the damage and advise whether it's more economical to repair the vehicle or if it should be written off. In some cases, an insurance assessor may need to get involved.
